Inlaid bronze tripod censer, Qing dynasty
A circular, flat-bodied censer decorated with geometric and floral motifs incised with hard-stone inlays. Two large foo dog heads are depicted in relief on either side, with their mouths open and showing their teeth. It has three elongated curved legs that simulate the tongue coming out of the head of a mythical beast. On the base is a seal with two Chinese characters, Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1912), possibly 19th century.
