Inro, 5 piece dark brown lacquered inro with gold leaf decoration - Lacquered wood - Japan - Mid 19th century (Late Edo/Early Meiji) 5 piece dark brown lacquered inro with gold leaf decoration depicting a continuous scene of a house with a figure overlooking a mountainous area. Complete with a marble ojime and a wooden netsuke in the shape of a cat strething his paws. The inside executed in nashiji lacquer. Wear of use and age. The lower part has a vertical crack and the nashiji lacquer on the inside connecting part has disappeared. Please look at pictures. Inro: 90×47×27 mm. Netsuke: L. : 45 mm; H. : 32 mm; W. : 28 mm. Mid 19th century (Late Edo/Early Meiji) ca 150 years old. Lot will be carefully packaged and sent by registered post.
