Interesting Antique Southern Stoneware Bud Vase

Circa 1830, likely Edgefield, South Carolina. The rich alkaline glaze runs around and pools at the top of the cubical base. Likely an afterhours piece produced by a very skilled potter. Some slight wear to the edge of rim and foot consistent with age. No restoration or repairs detected. H4" The piece was discovered by the current owner within an Aiken, South Carolina estate several years ago.
