(1) Noah Nowrakudluk (Port Harrison / Inukjuak, b. 1916, disc # E9-1612). Greenstone bird, n.d. Signed with disc # on underside of base; (2) Bobby Quppaapik Tarkirk (Sugluk / Salluit, b. 1934, disc # E9-1054). Black soapstone bird, n.d. Signed with disc # on underside of base; (3) Anonymous (First Nations / Inuit, active 20th century). Whale bone ivory bird carving, n.d. Unsigned. A fine ensemble of carvings by Inuit artists. First, a greenstone bird resembling a seagull with wings tucked and head facing forward, carved by Inuit artist Noah Nowrakudluk. Alternatively, the second sculpture is by Bobby Quppaapik Takirk and displays a goose lunging forward and beginning to spread its wings as though about to take off. The last is carved from Whale bone ivory and resembling a duck with a long sloping body, flattened bill, and drilled eyes. Size of largest (greenstone): 8" L x 1.8" W x 5.8" H (20.3 cm x 4.6 cm x 14.7 cm)

This is an ESA antique exempt piece of ivory and cannot be sold internationally or to anyone residing in the states of California, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington.

Condition Report: Greenstone and black soapstone birds are both signed with disc #s on underside of base. Chipping to beak and base of greenstone bird, and a few stable hairline surface fissures to bone bird. All have expected nicks and abrasions as shown. Otherwise, all are intact with smooth surfaces.
