Irene Zevon (American, 1918-2006) abstract cubist modern oil on canvas, signed and dated 1957 lower right, unframed, back of canvas marked Y.M.H.A.. Sight 30" H x 24" W. Note: Nahum Tschacbasov and Irene Zevon were residents of New York City's famed Chelsea Hotel. Tschacbasov was a member of the Expressionist Art group "The Ten" alongside mark Rothko. He taught at the Art Students League and married Zevon, a former student of his. All works by both artists in this sale were acquired from the estae of Tschacbasov's son.
