Ancient Near East, Persia, ca. 9th to 12th century CE. A stunning free-blown glass vessel of remarkable cobalt blue hues, the voluminous body mold-patterned with a variation on a honeycomb theme, rising to a conical neck with lovely thread-like trails encircling it just below the rim. A nice pontil mark on the base points to the free-blown process, and faint deposits grace the surface. Size: 2.9" W x 3.6" H (7.4 cm x 9.1 cm)
