An Italian antique 19th Century niche or travel altar shrine reliquary. Artisan carved wooden with hand painted forest green exterior and dual hinged doors to front opening to interior compartment painted powder blue, and featuring a central canopy of gilded wood surmounted a gilt fabric cross, with hand painted gilt stars. Hanging candle sconces to door interiors. Metal drop lock to front and metal carrying handle to top. Provenance; a private collection.
