Rare, Monumental Italian Baroque Faux Marbre and Silver-Gilt Mirror

fourth quarter 18th century, with a reverse serpentine crest, with broad plains of rosso antico faux marbre, trimmed in silver gilt, on a painted base and set with an antique mirror plate.

Condition Report: In "as found" condition. Open shrinkage cracks at the joints consistent with age. Scattered chips to the edges and inner liner. Wear and distress from age, giving it a good overall patina. The mirror plate with cloudiness and spots.
