A 16th century Italian portrait of Cardinal Alberto Bardi. Annotated at the upper edge "Alberto, Bardi, Cardinale". Depicted seated wearing Burgundy and White vestments and Red biretta with a Pater Noster bell below his right arm and a ring on his left hand. Painted on a three board wooden panel with butterfly joints and dovetailed cross beams. Some areas of restoration and in-painting, craquelure, minor flaking, surface grunge. Image 47 1/2 x 59 1/2" high, in a Gilded wood frame with wear and some losses. 57 1/2 x 69 1/2" high overall. ESTIMATE $4,000-6,000
