Italian School- Maria with child Jesus
\Artist: Italian School
Technique: Oil on canvas\Signature: Not signed\Dimensions: 71_59_71_cm
A beautiful and evocative baroque period from the late 1600's / early 1700's oil on canvas of Maria with the child Jesus in her arms, smiling gently. 71 cm x 59 cm including the frame measured. The frame is also from the Baroque period and is being offered as a gift and is not part of the auction Lot. The frame appears to have had some restoration to the inner moulding and the whole. Condition: Age-appropriate, but certainly not perfect condition; but overall in good condition given its antiquity . Small color losses in places (see photos) and a small repaired hole with corresponding patch to the lower verso and one possible tiny over-painted one . Furthermore, several old restorations, especially in the marginal area. The painting is from a private collection acquired from Germany and the collector acquired the painting in Rome 30 years ago. The postage will be slightly higher than usual as due to it's age the item will be posted within a purpose -made shuttered timber boxing and protected internally. Note shipping outside of mainland Europe is not desirable but possible again at a higher than usual cost .
