Italian Venetian Rococo Style Painted Triple Dresser

Large Italian Venetian Rococo style triple dresser featuring an elongated serpentine-form case finished in a softly antiqued pale blue-green with contrasting cream drawer fronts and carved decoration. The dresser is arranged with nine drawers in three vertical sections, each drawer front shaped with deeply scalloped and molded edges and fitted with ornate Rococo-style foliate metal pulls. The case is richly embellished with applied and carved acanthus scrollwork extending down the front corners and across the apron, centered by a prominent shell-and-foliate cartouche with scrolling C-curves and additional floral ornament. The bombe-form sides continue the curving profile, while the dresser is raised on slender cabriole legs terminating in carved scroll feet. The shaped top follows the contours of the case and is finished with a molded cream-colored edge. The painted finish has an intentionally distressed, antiqued character with darker highlighting worked into the carved recesses to emphasize the relief. Condition includes scattered scuffs, scratches, rubbing, finish wear, small nicks, and minor losses consistent with age and use, including areas of visible wear along the carved ornament and lower legs.
