Depicting a Muse, possibly Erato, wearing a laurel wreath and holding a zither, an attendant standing nearby before a Corinthian column, raised on a stepped square base; drilled and mounted as a lamp. Height excluding fittings 30 1/2 inches, width 12 inches.
Condition
Extensive firing cracks and haircracks, losses to corners, nose of the attendant, random losses to glaze; drilled twice at the back. Heavy crazing, numerous frits. Large chips to front top of the base and the back bottom of the base.
