Italian painter, 16th/17th century (Ippolito Scarsella
Paintings - Italian painter, 16th/17th century (Ippolito Scarsella, known as the "Lo Scarsellino"). Announced. 135X 68,5 Oil painting on canvas dated 1600After a long apprenticeship at the Veronese workshop, he assimilated his own great color revolution of the Venetian school movement. He meets great Venetian painters, and being gifted with great talent and exceptional rapidity in the execution, returns to Ferrara where he accepts a great quantity of commissioning. Presumably because of this large number of works produced, he has not been gratified as it deserves from the critics. His Venetianism is reflected in the pictorial opulence of the formal roundness of Tiziano's figures; in the flashing fantasies of Dosso. And of the chromatic splendour, in the silver light and in the oblique disposition of the bodies like Veronese; in the genre scenes he draws from Bassano.
