\Artist: Italian school (Bergamo) of the early XVIII Century
Technique: Oil on canvas\Signature: Not signed\Dimensions: 93_2_73_cm
Oval portrait of a scholar or a prelate. Early XVIII century. Bergamo, Italian school. In a very good condition. Restored with relining on a new chassis. A man of noble appearance and dressed in a grey toga with a white collar and cuffs, adorned with gold buttons. Nice play of nuances and delicate shading. The gesture of his hands, together with the intense gaze, convey an intention to communicate; as if the character had in mind the intention to say something to the viewer. We note the painter's great ability in analysing the character traits of human personalities.
