Italian tapestry - Textiles - Second half 20th century

[ translate ]

Italian tapestry in Arazzo Style with classic rural print using various textures and textiles for its creation. An Arazzo is a tapestry for covering walls, made using looms. The Arazzo is an artistic work insofar as it has representations or figurative designs through the weave of the fabric (an "arazzo" in a technical sense is not a painted or printed fabric) . The Italian name became widespread in the Renaissance and derives from the French city of Flanders called Arras, famous in the late Middle Ages for its specialised textile industries in drapes and other fine cloths. This Arazzo is framed in fabric flowers and well preserved with some signs of the passage of time. Registered and well packed shipping.
