Italy - 18th Century - Mid to Late - Rammer - Flintlock - Pistol - 11mm cal

This beautiful flintlock pistol was made in Bressica, Italy in the mid-to-late 18th century. The trigger guard, the lockplates, the ramrod pipe, the pommel, the coat of arms on the barrel, the lion head motif on the frizzen, and the decoration on the front of the stock under the muzzle were made from silver with baroque decoration. On the lockplates and on the trigger guard are baroque military figures on foot and on horses. On the left plate is the iconic cannon with cannonballs, gunpowder-barrel and halberd motif, wich is typical of the firearms of the age. The ramrod was made by a restorer. The mechanism works but the cockspring is a little bit weak. The stand is not part of the item.
