[ translate ]

It belonged to Umberto I, King of Italy. Sabre with straight double-fuller blade, with brand on the ricasso, bronze hilt with four guard arms. From the first production, very sturdy and powerful design. The sabre very well shows the different troop stamps on the hilt and sheath dating back from 1800 to 1900. Later, it continued to be used also as artillery sabre. The distinctive feature of this Italian sabre is the catch on the scabbard tug! Solid iron hilt with wooden handle, wrapped with string and covered in leather. Solid wedge-shaped bare blade, with deep fuller on two sides and strong curvature. Preserved in excellent condition with minimal spots, scattered dents and still very sharp. Bare iron scabbard of solid workmanship, funnel-shaped mouth with two transport rings, spots due to ageing (patina) . This sabre is really a beautiful and historic item.
