Ivars Poikans (1952) - a rare phenomenon in the context of Latvian art scene - an artist with a sustained interest in social processes.

1975-1976 Studied in Latvian. Academy of Arts, Department of Painting.
1964-1972 Studied in Rosenthal Riga Art School.
From 1984 he is a member of Latvian Artists Union.
From 1977 participates in exhibitions in Latvia and abroad.

Awards: In 2001, for a successful creative achievements in painting exhibition.
