DUMAS-RELATED DOCUMENTATION
Documentation compiled by Jean Hournon
An exceptional collection of some 130 binders and drawing portfolios containing a wealth of historical and literary documentation on the two Dumas and their era.
This collection was assembled over more than thirty years of patient, meticulous, and systematic research and constitutes a unique resource for understanding the authors of *The Three Musketeers* and *The Lady of the Camellias*.
Jean Hournon undertook, in particular, a monumental task of sifting through 19th- and 20th-century press clippings, searching for even the slightest reference to the two Alexandres.
In doing so, he has left behind a unique body of documentation that one cannot imagine ever being compiled again.
He adopted a thematic classification system and, within these broad themes, an arrangement that is both alphabetical and chronological.
We are presenting this documentation in several cohesive collections to provide enthusiasts of these two writers—whether interested in this or that aspect of their lives and works—with a “ready-to-use” resource to build upon and continue the vast research project on these two extraordinary men.
