J. Marechal Cheratte C/F Belgium Dutch Revolver Police Issue
Marchal Cheratte R.I.C. Type C/F Revolver, Marked for the Dutch Market. Late 19th-century Belgian-made revolver, manufactured by J. Marechal of Cheratte. Features a 3-1/4" octagon barrel with frame notch rear sight and half-moon front sight. Five-round cylinder, measuring for .38 S&W, though it may have been chambered for a Dutch cartridge. Single/double-action mechanism with a unique cylinder stop lever. The cylinder and frame retain matching serial numbers. "LP" marked on the cylinder, reportedly indicating a police-issued revolver and identifying that chamber for a blank cartridge. Belgian proofmarks are present throughout, including a Liege proofmark on the cylinder. Fitted with checkered two-piece wood grips on a rounded grip frame and equipped with a lanyard loop. Finish has turned to a gray patina with bluing remaining on the barrel. Grips show wear in the checkering and scratches. Decent bore with visible rifling. Good mechanics.
