FIRST EDITION, 29 pages, oblong 4to, engraved throughout, including title and 'Remarques sur les pièces de ce livre, & sur les différens genres de musique', without the later list of works, Auvergne paper with "Chaplet" watermark, lettered "Finde...Sauvade" (cf. Heawood 245), modern antique-style binding

First editions of Rameau's clavecin works are rare at auction. Rameau gives his address on the title as "ruë des deux Boule aux trois Rois", indicating that it was engraved prior to 1728. Marburg dates the edition to 1726.
