Deck Scene with Canopy. Watercolor and charcoal on paper. 394x285 mm; 15½x11¼ inches. Signed, Jim Turnbull, lower right. Signed, James B. Turnbull, and inscribed #47, verso. James Turnbull was awarded two mural projects funded by the Treasury Section of Fine Arts(TSFA). In 1939 he completed, The Lead Belt, for the Fredericktown, MO Post Office, and in 1940, Loqading Cattle for the Jackson, MO Post Office. The latter is now the Chamber of Commerce building, and the mural has been moved to the new post office serving Jackson.
