mounted on a seascape-painted plaque. Signed lower left "Jas. Walter Folger. 1896. Nantucket.". Inscribed in yellow paint on reverse "Carved & Painted - by - James Folger Nantucket Mass". Also affixed verso is Folger's business card, marked "James W. Folger Ornamental Designer & Wood Carver Heads, Portfolios &c Cut to order. Crayon Portraits and Oil Painting A Specialty. ... Oil on board, 15.5" x 24". Drake length 18".

Condition: Black light examination reveals several small spots to white area of belly and wing. Small flake under bill. Hairline cracks to lower part of plaque.
