JAPANESE METALWARE GROUP, EDO/MEIJI. Comprising four individual items including a Japanese copper woven lidded basket, the interior lacquered and the lid with partial gilt frog on rim. Together with a fine copper dish resting on three raised feet, the rim set with crabs, underside with the Nogawa company mark. Together with a lacquered brass covered jar in the shape of a persimmon, the leaf and stem set with gilt highlighted bee, and an iron tsuba with partial gilt copper emblem. Greatest measurement 4.75 inches (12 cm).

Condition Report: The interior of woven copper basket is lacquered and the lacquer on the interior of the fitted lid shows cracks and lifting. As for the other pieces, they are all in good condition with no damage. The persimmon covered jar shows shelf wear on base consistent with age. The Nogawa crab dish shows some wear and minor scuffs to underside of base.
