Boxed Fuji Compass no 2089; A Megaohm hand generator. Recovered from the Pacific Islands: 1942-45.
The compass made of brass, steel and glass, set in a wooden case with a clamp and stand attachment. Case 190 x 202 x 118 mm overall, Case lid cracked and stenciled "Standardization Compass needle Body" and makers metal label Fuji KLeiryoki K.K. leather carrying handle;
TOGETHER WITH: A Megaohm hand generator. Wooden box with metal makers name on the upper surface, 170 x 340 x 190 mm. With leather carrying handle. Adapted for use by US forces with scratched names against the terminals "Needle Adjust, Guard, Line, Earth".
The compass was likely used for range finding during artillery bombardment, and the hand generator part of a communications system.
