JAPANESE NAVAL LANDING FORCE HELMET.
[Pacific Theater, probably the Islands: 1942-45.] A metal Japanese Landing Force helmet, 280 x 260 x 120 deep. Without the emblem mounted at the front, and with a bullet hole in the back. lacking the chin strap and liner, the upper surface painted in Japanese characters with a "waka", a 31 syllable Japanese poem, incorporating the word Cherry Blossom. Some slight rusting in the interior, upper surfaces with light protective varnish.
