Frederick William II (* 25 September 1744 in Berlin; † 16 November 1797 in the Marble Palace in Potsdam) was King of Prussia, Margrave of Brandenburg and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire from 1786 until his death. He was descended from the German princely house of Hohenzollern and succeeded Frederick the Great, his uncle, on the Prussian throne.
