LOT 428

JEAN-BAPTISTE-CAMILLE COROT | FOURRÉ DE BALIVEAUX

[ translate ]

Property of a Japanese Private Collector
JEAN-BAPTISTE-CAMILLE COROT
French
1796 - 1875
FOURRÉ DE BALIVEAUX

stamped with the VENTE COROT stamp (lower right); VENTE COROT wax seal (on the reverse)
oil on canvas laid down on board
12½ by 9½ in.
31.7 by 24.1 cm

Condition Report:
Not examined out of the frame. The work is painted on canvas laid down on board. The board is slightly warped. The work presents well overall, though the surface is visibly dirty and frame abrasion is visible at the edges. Under UV: heavy varnish fluoresces green, which somewhat impedes a review of the surface, though there appear to be a few isolated pin dot retouches.

This work would be a good candidate for a clean. For a full treatment report, please contact the department.
