Don arrived in Paris from Bucharest during World War I. Before long, through a fortuitous connection with François André, he had completely acquainted himself with "Tout-Paris." André was the owner of casinos in Deauville, Cannes and La Baule, and singled Don out as his favorite designer and decorator. He commissioned Don to design posters and decorate balls and gala events for his wealthy clients. Rare.
