JEAN DUNAND
LOW TABLE

circa 1926
lacquered wood
branded JEAN DUNAND, numbered 312 and stamped with the artist's studio address 72 RUE HALLE PARIS
16¼ x 51¼ x 22⅞ in. (41.2 x 130.1 x 57.9 cm)

Condition Report:
Overall in good condition. This iconic low table design by Jean Dunand presents with a wooden body fully coated in a bright reflective lacquer in original condition and triangle-shaped feet with superb sculptural presence. This model’s feet are slightly elevated by about 1/2 inch above the ground and include protective foot pads, adding remarkable presence to the work. The lacquered surface presents with light scratches that are consistent with age and gentle use, the largest on the tabletop measuring approximately 3 1/2 inches long and not visually distracting. The sides of the tabletop and legs present with occasional and scattered crackling to the lacquer, areas of minor discoloration, as well as areas of restoration to the lacquer concentrated to the side edges of all four legs, which are consistent with the original design and are not visually distracting. This rare low table is stable, functional and ready for display.
