JEAN JACQUES (JAMES) PRADIER (FRENCH / SWISS, 1790-1852) BRONZE STATUE, Sappho a la Colonne (Sappho at the column), depicting the archaic Greek poet Sappho leaning against a column holding her lyre, the column is signed "J. PRADIER / 1848" above a crowned "VP". Retains its original bronze, silvered, and gilt patinas. Dated 1848. 17 1/2" H, 7" x 8" base.
Condition Report: Fine condition with light wear to the patina, hole to the top of base at the rear, and two small holes to her back, all from being lamped.
