La Vibration de Soto que nous présentons est très caractéristique de son oeuvre en ce qu'elle oppose une ligne monochrome mobile à une zone striée fixe, intégrant le mouvement au statisme par le seul frémissement de la couleur. Parfois parallèle, parfois décalée, la tige semble droite puis courbée, et la distance qui la sépare du cadre la soutenant n'est jamais tout à fait la même. Par ces multiples fluctuations, l'artiste crée une oeuvre instable et impose au spectateur de remettre constamment en cause ce qu'il pense apercevoir.
Soto's Vibration that we are presenting is highly characteristic of his work in that it contrasts a mobile monochrome line with a fixed area that is striated, thereby introducing movement to immobility only through chromatic tremors.
Sometimes parallel, sometimes offset, the rod may appear straight first, then curved, and its distance to the supporting frame is never entirely the same. Through these multiple fluctuations, the artist creates an unsteady work that obliges the viewer to constantly question what they really see
