With 5 frontispieces and 137 plates. Description of the Seventeen Provinces, originally from 1697, but expanded from one volume to five volumes in the decades that followed. It was reprinted in 1793, including a Dutch translation with the title ‘Het schouwburg der Nederlanden’. It provides a history and description of the Low Countries, which are presented as a unity, despite the political boundaries between the Southern Netherlands, the Dutch Republic, the territories conquered by France and the partly Prussian Guelders. The first editions were published by the major Brussels publisher Foppens. Afterwards, the copyrights went to Jean-François Bassompierre in Liège, whose five-volume edition from 1769 returned to the original title. Shipping: Post. NL, only within EU.
