n.p., ca. 1961
JFK China Plate, With LOA
Tableware

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963). Scarce Noritake China of Japan plate, 8.25" in diameter, with Presidential seal in gilt at top, surrounded by thirteen silver stars and encircled in silver around rim. With Noritake China stamp to underside. Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from John Lobota, Jr., whose father worked at Butler Aviation and was given the plate after the President was assassinated. In near fine condition.

This plate was given to President Kennedy by Japanese emissaries on June 19, 1961, as documented by the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. It was used on JFK's Convair 240 aircraft "Caroline", named after the President's daughter. The "Caroline" has been credited with giving Kennedy the narrow margin of victory in the 1960 Presidential Election by allowing him to quickly move about the country.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
