PROVENANCE: Private collection in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The Dutch marine painter, who came from Zeeland and lived in Amsterdam from 1831, is considered the progenitor of the Koekkoek family of painters spanning three generations. His works are now on display at the Currier Gallery of Art, the British Museum and the National Maritime Museum, among others.Show more
