JOHN DADLEY (ENGLISH, 1767-1817) AFTER PU-QUA (CHINESE, 18TH CENTURY) "THE COSTUME OF CHINA" PRINTS, SET OF SIX, hand-colored aquatint engravings, from George Henry Mason, The Costume of China, published by W. Miller of London, comprising pl. III "A Woman Making Stockings", pl. XXVI "An Apothecary", pl. XLVI "A Viper-Seller", pl. LI "A Cap-Maker", pl. LII "A Female Peasant", and pl. LIV "A Boy with Vegetables", each print including original English and French text page to back. Each housed under glass in a modern frame. Circa 1800. "A Woman Making Stockings" 8 1/4" x 10 1/4" sight, 13 1/2" x 15 5/8" OA.

Property of a West Virginia gentleman.
Condition Report: Prints with toning and some spotting/foxing, otherwise in very good visual condition; text pages with moderate to heavy toning, tape along edges, some cut-down, some with one or more tears; frames with minor wear. Prints not examined out of frames.
