JOHN ELLIS (SHERBORNE, ENGLAND) BRASS LANTERN CLOCK, square form, having a bell to top under finial, over pierced elements with classical dolphins, the chapter ring centering an elaborate potted plant design with a creature in back and the signature "Jno. Ellis". Retains pendulum and weights, and a later oak shelf. Mid 18th century. Clock 15 3/4" HOA, 6 1/8" WOA, 6" DOA; pendulum 50" LOA.
