JOHN PIPER
1903-1992
FENNY STRATFORD, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, ENGLAND

signed, titled and dated 14 11 64
watercolour and mixed media on paper
25 by 35cm.; 9¾ by 13¾in.

Condition Report:
The sheet is attached to a foam supported backing board with adhesive at corners and at intervals to the edges, and is not fully laid down. This foam board is in turn adhered to the mount. The left edge is serrated, in line with sheets from a sketchbook. The sheet undulates slightly. There are some fine lines of cracking to the black pigment towards the centre of the left edge with some associated flecks of loss and lifting. There are probably further more minor instances elsewhere to the black pigment. There is some very minor evidence of time staining and light surface dust to the sheet. There are remnants of paper adhered to the work towards the centre of the left edge. There is probable fading to some of the pigments. This excepting, the work appears in good overall condition.

The work is floated and held behind glass in a painted wooden frame.
