JOSEF CZAUCZIK | FREIFRAU ANGELIKA VON PROBSTNER AS DIANA

[ translate ]

PROPERTY OF THE LATE BARONESS VON WIELAND

JOSEF CZAUCZIK
Slovakian
1781 - 1857
FREIFRAU ANGELIKA VON PROBSTNER AS DIANA

inscribed in German on the reverse
oil on canvas
114 by 79cm., 45 by 31in.

Condition Report:
The canvas has not been lined and is attached to keyed wooden stretcher.
The back of the canvas has been painted over.
There is pronounced craquelure throughout and some undulation is visible notably in the upper right and along the lower edge. Inspection under ultra-violet light reveals some isolated spots of retouching, notably in the foliage in the upper left corner and closer to the centre of the right framing edge. It should be noted this restoration is visible to the naked eye, has been poorly made, and could be improved.

Overall, this work is in fairly good condition.
Presented in a simple wooden frame.
