Description: Other prints of this engraving are signed by the Augsburg engraver Johann Michael Probst. Previously attributed to Dürer himself because of the monogram and the lack of Probst's signature on the rare earlier prints. Only Heller was eager to expose the false attribution. He includes the engraving in his work and marks it as "after Dürer". He gives a detailed account of the various conditions and assumes that the engraving was made after a lost painting by Dürer. The plate of this engraving was still in Augsburg during his lifetime, but was soon melted down.
