This model derives from the lost original of Leonardo, who arrived in Valencia through Yáñez de la Almedina, although it is not ruled out that Juanes also made a trip to Italy. Trained in the workshop of his father, Juan Vicente Macip, Juanes was an absolute master of the Valencian scene in the mid-sixteenth century. The attribution of this table is based on the existence of similar models by Juanes himself and some by Macip in the 1920s.
