Jacob Bruijn The Hague 1906-1989 Wassenaar. He lived and worked in The Hague, Amsterdam and since 1932 in Wassenaar. A pupil of G. W. C. Rueter and at the Koninklijke Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague under the direction of H. Meijer. He mainly painted portraits, but also cityscapes, landscapes and still lifes. Member of Pulchri Studio and the Nederlands Kunstenaars Genootschap van Beeldende Kunstenaars. Origin: from the legacy of G. W. C. (Georg) Rueter. A wonderful early work with a view on the church of Dordrecht in 1931.
