Loef. signed and inscribed (Lower left) : and authenticated on a label (attached on the reverse) by Christies Amsterdam with a corresponding number, in Feb, 2016 when offered for a sale - reserve not met! - No restorations found under UV - Light (might be very minor if any - In 2016 it was thoroughly checked by Christies - No restoration was deduced - experts reviews might vary from one to another! ! ! ) - Master: Jacob Gerritsz Loef, was a Dutch Golden Age marine painter. He was born and died in Enkhuizen and worked there and in nearby Hoorn. According to the RKD he is known for his marines and Gerrit Dircksz.
