Description

Thematically and compositionally, the painting is reminiscent of a painting by Jacob van Ruisdael dated 1646, which is registered at the RKD under https://rkd.nl/images/3094. There could also be a connection to the work of a successor to Meindert Hobbema, registered at https://rkd.nl/images/253939.
