Proof of extreme rarity, one of the first works by Callot (R.R.R.R.), in the first state of two, before retouchings in the composition. Gersaint and Mariette describe this work of a 'goût libre' ('free taste'), engraved at the beginning of the Florentine stay. Lieure, no. 75; Chonè-Ternois, n. 23.

Excellent preservation. Margins of one centimeter beyond the platemark. On the reverse stamps of collections: Cesare Mancini-Rome and Marco Guidelli-Guidi-Bologna.
