Jade carved "Buddha" plaque, Qing dynasty
Carved jade with a greenish hue and faint yellow flecks. Rectangular in shape and with a narrow profile, the upper part is decorated with scrolls and small incised leaves. Framed within a narrow rectangle, one side depicts a long-robed Buddha on a base of lotus petals with his hands arranged in 'bhumisparsha mudra'. A long poem and a small seal are inscribed on the opposite side. Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1912)
