"La Vieille Aux Loques", one of the "Twelve Etchings from Nature", also called "The French Set", 1858. Etching on laid paper watermarked "9 6", signed in the plate lower right, published in London by J. A. Whistler at 62 Sloane Street and in Paris at Imprimerie Delâtre, Rue St. Jacques 171, matted and framed under glass, overall 20" x 15".

Portrait of an old woman sitting in the doorway of her kitchen, surrounded by bundles of rags (‘loques’). Behind her a view into the kitchen, with shining pots and pans and other kitchen paraphernalia.

Condition: Good, adhesive stain to upper edge of paper, paper hinged to mat board at top edge, inventory sticker to verso of paper in top right corner.
