James Camille Lignier (1858-1926) was a French painter known for his Impressionist style. He was born in Lille, France and studied art at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Lignier's paintings often depicted landscapes, cityscapes, and scenes of everyday life. He was a member of the Societe des Artistes Francais and exhibited regularly at the Salon. Lignier's work was highly regarded for his use of light and color to capture the mood and atmosphere of his subjects. He was known for his loose brushwork and his ability to convey a sense of movement in his paintings. He died in Paris in 1926, leaving behind a legacy as one of France's foremost Impressionist painters.
