Partly-printed DS, one page, 12 x 15, May 1, 1840. As governor of Tennessee, Polk grants unto William Austin "a certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing Thirty acres" in Dickson County. Boldly signed at the conclusion by Governor Polk and countersigned by John S. Young as secretary of state. In very good to fine condition, with light toning and staining, splitting to the ends of the intersecting folds, and trivial areas of paper loss along the folds.
