James Monroe Document Signed as President
Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 14 x 9, May 1, 1824. President Monroe grants unto Jacob Prewett a parcel "containing one hundred & sixty acres & thirty four hundredths of an acre of the Lands directed to be sold at Huntsville." Signed at the conclusion by President Monroe and countersigned by Commissioner of the General Land Office George Graham. The white paper seal affixed to the lower left remains intact. Nicely corner-mounted, matted, and framed with a portrait to an overall size of 27 x 17. In very good to fine condition, with light wrinkling, and some fading to the signature.
